> Wetherby Local Community Radio
Provides easy listening music, interspersed with local information, appeals and news. Broadcasts 24 hours a day to Wetherby and the surrounding area.
Commenced broadcasting in September 2006 to an area with a population in excess of 29,000 people.
Run entirely by volunteers, for the benefit of all, as a not for profit organisation.
Aims:
- To provide a ‘Voice’ for Wetherby through a different and truly local radio station.
- Providing a local service to promote all local and charitable events in and around the Wetherby area, free of charge.
Funding:
- The overheads of the station for their Ofcom and music licences are very low, currently being less than £100 per week.
- Donations from individuals and companies are gratefully received.
