> The Wetherby Railway Path
Hidden away in the centre of Wetherby is a peaceful wooded triangle of disused railway line that is
enjoyed by walkers, cyclist and wildlife. From here the route from Wetherby to Spofforth passes
through open countryside with the Railway Inn and Spofforth Castle being about 3 miles away. In
the other direction to Thorp Arch the path runs to the South of Wetherby Racecourse and is planned
eventually to go to Tadcaster via the Newton Kyme viaduct over the Wharfe.
The path has access to many footpaths and bridleways around the town and at its Southern end
takes you to Scaur Bank and the Ings.
